D-backs place Archie Bradley on 15-day disabled list; recall Enrique Burgos

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks placed right-handed pitcher Archie Bradley on the 15-day disabled list with a right sinus fracture and recalled right-handed pitcher Enrique Burgos from Double-A Mobile, as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart.

Bradley, 22, was struck in the face by a live drive in the second inning last night vs. Rockies. In his first 4 Major League starts, he is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA (4 ER in 20.0 IP)

Burgos, 24, is tied for the Minor League lead with 6 saves, while making 7 scoreless relief appearances with the BayBears this season (6.2 IP). He has also limited opponents to a .130 average (3-for-23), including 1 hit in 12 at-bats vs. righties.

Burgos, who will wear No. 36 in his Major League debut, was 20-18 with 56 saves and a 4.47 ERA (184 ER in 370.1 IP) and 385 strikeouts in 189 games (52 starts) over 8 Minor League seasons in the D-backs' organization. He was named to Baseball America's 2014 Second-Team Minor League All-Star Team after leading the California League with 29 saves, and entered this season possessing the Best Fastball among Arizona farmhands for the second straight season (2014-15).

The native of Panama City, Panama, was signed by the D-backs as a non-drafted free agent on July 19, 2007.
