D-backs give fans inside look via Snapchat

March 12th, 2016

The D-backs offered fans a unique perspective on Spring Training on Friday as Major League Baseball participated in its inaugural Snapchat Day.
The event provided a behind-the scenes look into the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues as players were permitted to bring smartphones into the dugouts and bullpens during Friday's spring games. They shared photos and videos throughout the day via the social media app -- with an occasional assist from SnapBat selfie sticks.
All 30 big league clubs published Snapchat stories, and Arizona's can be found at the Snapchat handle "Dbacks."
The D-backs' Snapchat story takes fans through a day in the life of the players at Spring Training. It begins as most days do with some early-morning workouts, batting practice and bullpen sessions and continues on to their bus ride to Surprise, Ariz., for a Cactus League matchup with the defending-champion Royals.
The Arizona feed also offers a unique perspective on the game with a glimpse into the visiting dugout at Surprise Stadium, including some reaction footage from the D-backs three homers in the 12-3 win. It also features a slow-motion shot of Friday's starter Patrick Corbin warming up in the bullpen before tossing three scoreless frames against Kansas City.
