D-backs recall Roe and Skaggs from Reno

Place Ross on disabled list and option Spruill

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) recalled right-handed pitcher Chaz Roe and left-handed pitcher Tyler Skaggs (@TylerSkaggs37) from Triple-A Reno, placed outfielder Cody Ross on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated right hip and optioned Zeke Spruill (@zekespruill) to Reno, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers. 

Roe, 26, was 0-1 with 8 saves and a 1.21 ERA (3 ER in 22.1 IP) in 23 relief appearances with Double-A Mobile and Reno this season. He also has appeared in 4 games over 2 stints with the D-backs, going 1-0 with a 5.79 ERA (3 ER in 4.2 IP).

Skaggs, 22, has combined to go 6-7 with a 4.16 ERA (41 ER in 88.2 IP) in 16 games (14 starts) with Single-A Visalia and Reno in 2013. In 7 starts with Arizona this season, he is 2-3 with a 5.35 ERA (23 ER in 38.2 IP).

Ross, 32, suffered a dislocated right hip in the first inning of yesterday's game vs. New York-NL. He was hitting .278 (88-for-317) with 17 doubles, 8 home runs and 38 RBI in 94 games in his first season with the D-backs, including a .395 (17-for-43) average over his last 12 games.

Spruill, 23, was 0-2 with a 5.56 ERA (7 ER in 11.1 IP) in 6 games (2 starts) with the D-backs this season. He suffered the loss yesterday in a 9-5 defeat to the Mets, allowing 1 earned run in 3.0 innings.
