D-backs reinstate Cahill from 15-day Disabled List; Option Roe to Reno

The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) announced they reinstated right-handed pitcher Trevor Cahill from the 15-day disabled list (right hip contusion) and optioned right-handed pitcher Chaz Roe to Triple-A Reno, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.         

Cahill, 25, will be making his first start since June 30 @ Braves. He is 3-10 with a 4.66 ERA (50 ER in 96.2 IP) in 17 starts with the D-backs this season.

In 5 Major League seasons, Cahill has gone 56-57 with a 3.96 ERA (387 ER in 879.2 IP) in 145 starts with Oakland (2009-11) and Arizona (2012-).

Roe, 26, went 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA (3 ER in 5.0 IP) in 5 games with the D-backs in 2013. He retired his only batter faced last night @ Pirates.
