D-backs reinstate Jarrod Saltalamacchia from the 15-day disabled list

Optioned Dominic Leone to Double-A Mobile following yesterday's game

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) reinstated catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia from the 15-day disabled list (strained left neck), as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart.

In addition, the D-backs optioned right-handed pitcher Dominic Leone to Double-A Mobile following yesterday's game.

Saltalamacchia, 30, has appeared in 20 games with Arizona this season and is hitting .213 (13-for-61) with 1 homer and 4 RBI. He was batting .318 (7-for-22) with 3 doubles, 1 RBI and 4 walks in his last 8 games prior to the injury. Saltalamacchia was signed by the D-backs as a Minor League free agent on May 7, and promoted to Arizona on May 29.

Leone, 23, has pitched in 3 games with the D-backs in 2015. He was acquired from the Seattle Mariners on June 3, with catcher Wellington Castillo, infielder Jack Reinheimer and outfielder Gabby Guerrero, in exchange for outfielder Mark Trumbo and left-handed pitcher Vidal Nuño.
