D-backs exercise options on Ziegler, Collmenter

The D-backs exercised their 2016 club options on right-handers Brad Ziegler and Josh Collmenter on Tuesday.

Ziegler set career bests this season in saves (30) and WHIP (0.96), going 0-3 with a 1.85 ERA in 66 appearances. The 36-year-old is the all-time franchise leader in relief ERA (2.45) and appearances (312), and is one of three pitchers to appear in 60-plus games in each of the last six seasons.

Collmenter was 4-6 with a 3.79 ERA in 44 games (12 starts) this season, ranking sixth among NL relievers with a 1.89 ERA. The 29-year-old is 35-33 with a 3.49 ERA in five seasons with Arizona.
