Hazen to put stamp on D-backs at Meetings

New GM figures to continue dealing as club seeks bullpen help

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. -- The Winter Meetings start bright and early Monday morning and run through Thursday's Rule 5 Draft and dbacks.com and MLB.com will have you covered for all the news this week.
MLB.com and MLB Network will have wall-to-wall coverage of the 2016 Winter Meetings from the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center outside Washington, D.C. The D-backs have been busy already this winter on both the playing and non-player side of things.

First they remade their front office by hiring GM Mike Hazen, who in turn hired Torey Lovullo to replace Chip Hale as manager.

Then they dealt infielder to the Mariners in a five-player trade that netted right-hander and infielder .

Friday, after non-tendering right-hander and catcher , the D-backs agreed to terms on a two-year, $4 million deal with free-agent backstop .

How does Lovullo plan to divide up the playing time between Mathis and ? Does he feel could be a fit at second base with Segura out of the picture? We'll ask him those questions and more when he meets with the media Wednesday afternoon.
One thing that's for sure about the Winter Meetings is that you never know what might happen when all 30 GMs are in the same hotel together. Stay tuned to see what happens.
