D-backs Select Roe From Triple-A Reno, Place Cahill On 15-Day Disabled List

The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) have selected right-handed pitcher Chaz Roe from Triple-A Reno and placed right-handed pitcher Trevor Cahill on the 15-day disabled list with a right hip contusion, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Roe, 26, had 4 saves, 2.00 ERA (2 ER in 9.0 IP) and .194 opponents average (6-for-31) with 2 walks and 13 strikeouts in 9 games for the Aces. This will be his first stint in the Majors. He will wear No. 34.

Roe signed with the D-backs as a Minor League free agent on Sept. 15, 2012, after spending the 2012 season with the independent Laredo Lemurs, going 3-2 with 1.47 ERA (9 ER in 55.0 IP) in 49 relief appearances. He spent the 2005-10 seasons in the Colorado Rockies system and 2011 in the Seattle Mariners system.

Cahill, 25, is 3-10 with a 4.66 ERA (50 ER in 96.2 IP) in 17 starts this season.
