D-backs to activate OF Inciarte

PHOENIX -- The D-backs will make a roster move on Friday to activate Ender Inciarte from the disabled list, after the outfielder has missed a month with a strained right hamstring.

Inciarte spent the All-Star break on a rehab assignment with Double-A Mobile, where he played in five games and went 6-for-20 with a home run. He also played in two rehab games for the Arizona Rookie League team before that.

"I was doing everything 100 percent and I feel comfortable," Inciarte said before a team workout at Chase Field on Thursday. "I feel confident, my legs feel even better than before I got injured and I just can't wait to be back."

In Inciarte's absence, David Peralta became the everyday left fielder, A.J. Pollock remained in center, and Yasmany Tomas started in right. With Inciarte back in the mix, the D-backs will have to find a way to get playing time for all four outfielders.

The D-backs will also have to option someone on Friday to make room on the 25-man roster. D-backs manager Chip Hale said he is not yet sure whether that will be a position player or a pitcher, which would return the D-backs to having 13 position players.

"It's a tough decision for the organization," Hale said. "We're excited to have him back, but it's tough to lose somebody on our roster."

Prior to going on the DL on June 16, Inciarte batted .287 with two homers and 21 RBIs in 63 games.
