D-backs tribute To Yarnell comes to Chase Field tomorrow

D-backs encourage fans to arrive by 6 p.m. tomorrow for a special first responders and military pregame recognition

PHOENIX – The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) are encouraging fans to donate in support of the families of the 19 firefighters who perished fighting the Yarnell fire on Sunday as well as members of the community who have been affected by the fires. In addition, the D-backs recommend fans arrive for the D-backs vs. Rockies game by 6 p.m. tomorrow for a special pregame presentation on the field that will include recognition for Arizona first responders as well as a salute to our military.

Fans are encouraged to donate online at www.dbacks.com/19 and the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation will match each donation up to $100,000. Fans who donate $19 or more will be entered for a chance to win a team-signed home white jersey with the name “Yarnell” and No. 19. Since launching the online donation link on Tuesday, the D-backs have already raised more than $90,000 for a combined total of $180,000 with the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation matching gift.

Starting tomorrow through July 14, the D-backs will auction off the newly created game-worn and autographed black Arizona tribute jerseys from this weekend and signed nameplates from the D-backs Clubhouse online at dbacks.com/auctions.

During this weekend’s homestand, July 5-7, proceeds from the 50/50 Raffle, supported by Western Refining, will benefit the families of the tragedy. All proceeds from the online donation, 50/50 Raffle and online auction will benefit 100 Club of Arizona, American Red Cross, Prescott Firefighter Charities and other charities that will assist in the rebuilding efforts.

Prior to tomorrow’s game, the D-backs will honor first responders and military with a special pregame ceremony on the field beginning at 6 p.m. The on-field ceremonies include a moment of silence and photo montage in memory of the 19 firefighters followed by “Amazing Grace” performed by the Arizona Fire Service Bagpipe and Drum Band, which includes more than 45 firefighters from communities all over the state. The D-backs have also partnered with Budweiser to recognize not only our military service members but also all first responders during “Cheers to the Heroes” at the end of the second inning at every D-backs home game.

Tickets are still available for games this weekend and can be purchased at the Chase Field Box Office, by calling 602-514-8400 or online at www.dbacks.com/tickets. The D-backs are also offering 50 percent off tickets prices for all military active duty, reserve, retired and veterans, as well as active and retired fire and police personnel with a valid ID throughout the entire weekend series.
