Duffy makes amazing scoop on bunt attempt

KANSAS CITY -- Royals left-hander Danny Duffy pulled off one of the best defensive plays you'll see a pitcher make.
With one out in the top of the second inning in Sunday's 4-2 walk-off win in 13 innings in the rubber game, Braves left fielder Ender Inciarte bunted, the ball scooting between the pitcher's mound and first base.
Duffy's follow-through from the pitch pulled him toward the third-base side of the mound, so he actually did a 180, then began chasing the ball.
As Duffy reached the ball, he had no time to pick it up and transition it to his bare hand. So Duffy instinctively just flicked the ball from his glove to first baseman Eric Hosmer, nipping Inciarte by inches for the out.
Hosmer immediately gazed at the scoreboard for a replay, perhaps amazed by Duffy's play himself, or wanting to make sure the Royals got the out -- they did, as the Braves did not challenge.
