Brewers pitcher David Goforth will visit the Sojourner Family Peace Center tomorrow at 1 p.m. At the event, Goforth will tour the site and meet with members of the staff.
Sojourner Family Peace Center is a non-profit community organization that exists to end domestic violence and create peaceful communities. Based on the nationally known and proven Family Justice Center model, the Sojourner Family Peace Center transforms the community's response to family violence and ultimately make Milwaukee and its surrounding communities a healthier, safer and more peaceful place to live. This model is a best practice for delivering care to families impacted by domestic violence.
Once again year, WaterStone Bank and Brewers Community Foundation are partnering to benefit Sojourner through the "K's For A Cause" program. WaterStone Bank and BCF will each make a donation to the Sojourner Family Peace Center for every strikeout recorded by a Brewers pitcher at Miller Park during the 2016 season. The strikeout total for each game and the season is displayed on the "strikeout meter" sign at Miller Park, which is located on the right field fascia. Last season, the "K's for a Cause" campaign raised a total of $20,100, bringing the two-year grand total to $39,600.
