Rangers activate DeShields from DL, option Alberto

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers activated outfielder Delino DeShields from the 15-day disabled list and optioned infielder Hanser Alberto to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

DeShields was placed on the disabled list on June 15 with a left hamstring strain. He played six games on an injury rehabilitation assignment with Round Rock, hitting .308 (8-for-26) with three doubles and two RBIs.

DeShields has batted .269 with nine doubles, four triples, 12 RBIs and 32 runs scored over 48 games with the Rangers this season in his first Major League action.

Alberto batted .247 (18-for-73) over 25 games after being recalled from Round Rock on May 28. He had started one of the Rangers' last 12 games.
