Cardinals cautious with Fowler's tight quad

CF out of lineup Thursday, but injury not considered serious

PHILADELPHIA -- was out of the lineup for Thursday's 5-1 loss in the series finale against the Phillies after he was removed late into Wednesday's extra-inning game with left quad tightness.
The move was precautionary, and the injury is not thought to be serious.
"[We're] still waiting to hear from the medical staff what we're dealing with," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said. "It's something we're going to have to keep an eye on for sure."
Since being moved to the No. 2 spot in the order, Fowler is batting .340/.426/.723. That batting average and on-base percentage rank second on the team in that span behind Matt Carpenter.

St. Louis announced the signings of six more 2017 Draft picks in addition to two undrafted free agents. Seventh-round pick, center fielder Chase Pinder from Clemson University (214th overall), joined Zach Kirtley (fifth round, 154th overall), who was signed Tuesday, as the two highest signed picks thus far.
