DETROIT -- Rookie left-hander Dietrich Enns, who made his first Major League start on Thursday against the Brewers, will get another start with the Twins, but manager Paul Molitor said he's still deciding when that will be.
Enns, who was acquired from the Yankees in the trade that sent Jaime Garcia to New York on July 30, allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk over 2 1/3 innings in Minnesota's 7-2 win. With an off-day on Monday, the Twins could skip his turn in the rotation, meaning he could start as early as Wednesday against the Indians, or as late as Saturday against the D-backs.
"We've had conversations," Molitor said. "With the benefit of the off-day, I don't have to decide yet. I kind of have in mind what I think will work out, but we have to get through the next couple days with some good healthy starts from our guys."
Enns, who hails from Frankfort, Ill., had roughly 35 family members and friends at his debut and said he came away happy with the experience despite getting pulled after throwing 53 pitches, as it was a learning experience. He also came away with his first hit.
"It was exciting and fun," Enns said. "I just tried to soak it all in. To be able to get a couple at-bats ... I couldn't do the job the first time and couldn't get the bunt down, but getting a hit after that, it's something I never thought would've happened. It's funny watching the video the next day."

Outside of Enns' infield single, Molitor also saw enough from him on the mound to be intrigued. Enns has posted solid numbers in the Minors with a 1.89 ERA in 111 games (51 starts), including a 1.88 ERA in 22 outings (18 starts) at Triple-A.
"There were a lot of good things," Molitor said. "I think with that inning the way it went, it wasn't that he was pitching poorly enough to get hooked. It was just a misplay. He wasn't misfiring. He was getting ahead of people."
Worth noting
• Twins left-hander Glen Perkins, who is nearing a return from left labrum surgery in June 2016, made the first of his three scheduled rehab appearances with Double-A Chattanooga on Thursday. He threw a scoreless inning, allowing one hit. The lefty will pitch again on Sunday and Monday, and he could be activated after that. Molitor was pleased to hear Perkins was pitching inside effectively, and his fastball mostly sat at the 90- to 91-mph range.
