MILWAUKEE -- Left-hander Alex Wood will miss a second start and southpaw reliever Adam Liberatore will miss several weeks, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said results of their physical exams showed nothing more serious than originally diagnosed.
Wood -- rewarded for 25 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings by being named the National League Pitcher of the Month for May on Friday -- was placed on the 10-day disabled list on May 27 with left SC joint inflammation near the sternum. At the time, the club originally announced he would miss one start. Liberatore went on the DL on Wednesday with left forearm tightness.
"Alex … it came back as benign as possible," Roberts said. "We're trying to figure out when to pencil him in, but essentially it will be two missed starts. He'll start throwing in the next day or two."
Wood's extended absence apparently means Hyun-Jin Ryu will get at least one more start. Ryu allowed one run on three hits in six innings against the Cardinals while filling in for Wood on Wednesday night.

Wood is likely to return for the Reds series -- June 9-11 -- and will not need a rehab assignment.
Liberatore, who just returned from two weeks out because of a left groin strain, will probably require a rehab assignment.
"Lib's scans came back negative, so there's just inflammation in there," Roberts said. "We'll rest him, but there's no nerve damage. He's in a good place. A couple weeks off, and he'll be fine."
Worth noting
• Third baseman Justin Turner ran the bases Friday and was a full participant in pregame batting practice, but Roberts said no date has been set for his rehab stint as he works his way back from a right hamstring strain.
• The Dodgers acquired left-handed pitcher Jason Wheeler for cash considerations from the Twins after Friday night's 2-1 win over the Brewers and optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City. To make room on the roster, Rob Segedin was moved from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day DL. Segedin underwent surgery on his right wrist last week.
The 26-year-old Wheeler was designated for assignment by the Twins on Thursday after making two Major League appearances.
