Dodgers Announce Selections From Third Day of 2015 Draft

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today announced their final 30 picks from the third day of the 2015 Draft.

The Dodgers made 42 overall picks in this year's draft, selecting 25 pitchers (22 right-handers, three left-handers), five outfielders, six infielders (one first baseman, three second basemen, two shortstops) and six catchers. Of the 17 drafted position players, 11 are right-handed hitters, five were left-handed and one switch-hitter. Thirty-three were selected from the college ranks, while nine were drafted from high school.

On the draft's third and final day, the Dodgers picked four players with California ties in Madison (CA) High School pitcher Imani Abdullah (11th round), Cal Poly Pomona and Chino Hill High School graduate Kyle Garlick (28th round), Fresno Community College pitcher Drayton Riekenberg (36th round) and Cal Poly Pomona and Upland High School graduate Christopher Powell (39th round). Powell, a right-handed pitcher, is the son of former Dodger pitcher Dennis Powell, who played for the club from 1985-86.
