Seager needs boost on All-Star Game ballot

June 27th, 2016

PITTSBURGH -- It looks like Dodgers rookie shortstop Corey Seager will have to wait until July 5 -- the day starting lineups and reserves are announced for the 2016 All-Star Game presented by MasterCard -- to see if he'll make the National League All-Star team, as he remained a distant third in the most recent update of the 2016 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot results.
Seager was tops among NL shortstops in hits (89) and runs (50), while ranking among the position leaders in home runs (second), RBIs (fifth), batting average (second) and slugging percentage (second) entering Monday. Seager leads L.A. in hits, homers, doubles and runs scored.
