In the last decade, no team has sustained excellence at winning in the Majors while developing impact talent in the Minors more than the Dodgers. And now they finally have a World Series championship to show for it after beating the Rays in 2020, while also winning their eighth consecutive National League West title and third pennant in four years.

After setting a franchise record with 106 victories a year ago, Los Angeles established another with a .717 winning percentage this summer. It continued a seemingly endless procession of graduating Top 100 Prospects to the big leagues with Brusdar Graterol, Gavin Lux and Dustin May, who followed in the recent footsteps of Cody Bellinger, Walker Buehler, Joc Pederson, Corey Seager, Will Smith, Julio Urías and Alex Verdugo. Except for Lux and Verdugo (who was a key part of the trade that landed Mookie Betts from the Red Sox in February), they all played direct roles in the Dodgers' seventh World Series triumph.

Los Angeles has waves of quality prospects on the way who should provide more talent, youth and financial flexibility in coming seasons. Their two best Minor Leaguers, right-hander Josiah Gray and catcher Keibert Ruiz, are ready to contribute next year if given a chance. Third baseman Kody Hoese and second baseman Michael Busch should push for regular playing time in 2022.

A bountiful 2020 Draft could make an impact on the pitching staff by 2023, if not sooner, with power-armed college right-handers Bobby Miller, Clayton Beeter and Landon Knack. Further away but full of upside are catcher Diego Cartaya and outfielder Luis Rodriguez, the top Venezuelans from the previous two international classes.

Trade: Kendall Williams, RHP (No. 23)

The Dodgers got a stunning amount of upside in the Draft despite picking at the bottom of each round. Miller, Knack and Beeter are all college righties with power stuff and the ability to advance quickly, while Vogel stands out with his hitting ability, speed and defense. Despite being an obvious contender, Los Angeles made an in-season trade to send veteran Ross Stripling to the Blue Jays for projectable righty Kendall Williams, a second-round choice in 2019, and a player to be named.

2021 IMPACT PROSPECT

Josiah Gray, RHP (No. 1): A Reds supplemental second-round pick in June 2018 who was stolen in the Yasiel Puig/Matt Kemp trade six months later, he stands out with an explosive 92-97 mph fastball, a low-80s slider and his competitive edge.

2022 TOP PROSPECT

Kody Hoese, 3B (No. 3): A first-rounder in 2019 after setting American Athletic Conference records for homers (23), total bases (183), slugging (.779) and runs (72), Hoese has feel for hitting to go with his power and should be able to stay at the hot corner.
