Dodgers still unsure of next step for Urias

June 22nd, 2017

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers are still gathering information on left-hander , who was placed on the seven-day disabled list on June 14 by Triple-A Oklahoma City because of shoulder soreness.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said there is no timetable for when Urias could return from the DL. Roberts said Urias was examined by team doctor Neal ElAttrache this week and is not sure if Urias will need a second opinion.
"I don't see or haven't heard of him picking up a baseball," Roberts said. "Like I said before with Julio, we're trying to be extra cautious, but I haven't heard anything definitive at all."
Urias, who was MLBPipeline's No. 4 overall prospect in 2016, was sent down to Triple-A on May 21 after having trouble with his command. The southpaw has an 0-2 record and sports a 5.40 ERA in five starts in the Majors this season and has made six appearances for Oklahoma City.
Worth noting
• Right-handed pitcher was recalled from Triple-A Wednesday and righty was optioned to Oklahoma City. Morrow, 32, has gone 2-0 in five relief appearances and has not allowed a run in six innings. Stewart made his first appearance of the season on Tuesday against the Mets, tossing three scoreless innings, earning his first career save.
• The Dodgers are aiming for veteran outfielder to return this season. Ethier was placed on the 60-day DL on May 9 with a lumbar disk herniation and began the season on the DL after suffering a herniated disk in Spring Training. The 35-year-old has had troubles staying healthy, only playing in 16 games last season while batting .208 with one home run and two RBIs.
• Roberts said will be available out of the Dodgers bullpen on Thursday if he is needed. Maeda was a bumped out of the rotation on June 7 and moved into the bullpen, but made a spot start against the Indians on June 18 to give an extra day off.
