PHOENIX -- The Dodgers will shuffle numerous hitters into the leadoff spot, manager Dave Roberts said on Tuesday, continuing last year's tendency under previous manager Don Mattingly.
"I don't foresee us having a set leadoff hitter," said Roberts, who was primarily a leadoff hitter. "As the game has evolved, there have been a lot of changes, and where you hit in the order in this day and age, with the data we have, change is good. It's definitely not about reinventing the wheel."

Last year, the first under president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman, the Dodgers used 12 leadoff hitters. Joc Pederson had the most leadoff starts (69) of the group, which included Chris Heisey, Austin Barnes, Scott Schebler and Justin Ruggiano. In total, the Dodgers used 137 different lineups, tied for seventh-most in the Major Leagues.
In 2014, the last year of the Ned Colletti era, the Dodgers used six leadoff hitters. Dee Gordon had the most leadoff starts (133) and the club used 142 different lineups.
