Kemp pleased with progress during recovery

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Matt Kemp took another step down the road to recovery on Tuesday at Camelback Ranch.

The Dodgers outfielder went 0-for-3 with a walk in a Minor League game against the Mariners, but walked away from the field feeling optimistic.

"I feel good," Kemp said. "I'm getting better and better every day. I'm getting a little more comfortable. I don't care about results. I care about how I feel and I feel good."

Kemp is attempting to return from a career-threatening injury to the weight-bearing talus bone in his left ankle. He sustained the injury, a stress reaction and cartilage chip, on a home-plate slide on July 21.

Kemp will open the season on the disabled list and has said he will not rush back and risk re-injury.
