Dodgers place Dee Gordon on disabled list, reinstate Javy Guerra

LOS ANGELES – Prior to today’s game, the Los Angeles Dodgers placed infielder Dee Gordon on the 15-day disabled list (right thumb UCL tear) and reinstated right-handed reliever Javy Guerra from the disabled list. Gordon was hitting .229 with 36 runs scored, nine doubles, a homer, 17 RBI and a Major League-leading 30 stolen bases.

Guerra last pitched on June 2 after having right knee surgery and has gone 2-3 with eight saves and a 3.38 ERA in 27 relief appearances. The 26-year-old made two rehab appearances with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and last pitched on Tuesday, when he struck out one in a scoreless inning. Prior to going on the DL, Guerra had tossed scoreless relief in 12 of his last 13 outings and posted a 0.77 ERA (1 ER/11.2 IP) from May 8-June 2.
