Dodgers recall Elian Herrera; option Chris Withrow to Triple-A

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled infielder/outfielder Elian Herrera (#37) from Triple-A Albuquerque and optioned right-hander Chris Withrow to Triple-A. Herrera, a switch-hitter, was batting .300 with five homers and 28 RBI in 61 games with the Isotopes, including a .317 mark with runners in scoring position (19-for-60). The 28-year-old went 1-for-3 on May 8 against the D-backs in his only big league action this season and has a .253 batting average with a home run and 17 RBI in 68 career MLB games with the Dodgers.

Withrow made his Major League debut on June 12 against the D-backs and posted a 5.40 ERA in three relief appearances since his recall from Albuquerque on June 11.
