Dodgers Recall Ian Thomas, Option Eric Surkamp

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled left-handed pitcher Ian Thomas from Triple-A Oklahoma City and optioned left-hander Eric Surkamp to Triple-A.

Thomas last pitched on Thursday for Oklahoma City, allowing four runs on five hits in 4.2 innings (100 pitches), and has gone 3-1 with a 4.46 ERA in 15 combined games (five starts) with OKC and Atlanta's minor league affiliates in Gwinnett (Triple-A) and Mississippi (Double-A). He has appeared in one game, the June 2 doubleheader at Colorado, in two previous stints with the Dodgers and has gone 0-1 with a 6.48 ERA (6 ER/8.1 IP) in six combined big league games with Atlanta and Los Angeles this season.

Surkamp made his Dodger debut last night after being acquired from the Chicago White Sox on May 22 and allowed four runs on four hits in 3.1 innings of relief.
