LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled right-handed pitcher Mike Bolsinger and left-hander Luis Avilan from Triple-A Oklahoma City, optioned right-hander Ross Stripling to OKC and placed right-handed reliever Chin-Hui Tsao on the 15-day disabled list with a right triceps strain (retroactive to May 22).
Bolsinger, 28, made his 2016 debut on Wednesday against the Angels in Anaheim, taking the loss after allowing three runs on seven hits in 4.1 innings. He opened the season on the disabled list after straining his left oblique muscle on March 20 in Arizona and posted a 2.25 ERA (2 ER/8.0 IP) with seven strikeouts and three walks in two rehab starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Avilan, 27, will be making his second appearance on the active roster this season after allowing three runs in 0.2 innings in three games with the Dodgers during his first call-up, April 21-24. He last pitched on Saturday with Oklahoma City vs. Salt Lake, picking up a save in a scoreless ninth inning (14 pitches), and has gone 0-2 with two saves and a 4.97 ERA (7 ER/12.2 IP) in 12 games this season at Triple-A, where he's limited left-handers to a .143 batting average (2-for-14).
Stripling picked up the win in yesterday's 17-inning game with 3.0 scoreless innings, throwing 38 pitches, and has gone 2-3 with a 4.53 ERA in nine games (eight starts) with the Dodgers this year after making the Opening Day roster.
Tsao had his contract selected by the Dodgers on Thursday and went 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA (1 ER/1.2 IP) in two relief appearances.
