LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated right-handed pitcher Mike Bolsinger and optioned infielder Charlie Culberson to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Tonight in Anaheim, Bolsinger will make his 2016 season debut and first-career start against the Angels.
Bolsinger, 28, has spent the entire season on the disabled list after straining his left oblique muscle on March 20 in Arizona. He posted a 2.25 ERA (2 ER/8.0 IP) with seven strikeouts and three walks in two rehab starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City. Last year, Bolsinger was acquired from the Diamondbacks in the offseason and then proceeded to go 6-6 with a 3.62 ERA (44 ER/109.1 IP) in 21 starts for Los Angeles in 2015. Bolsinger was originally selected by Arizona in the 15th round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft.
In 15 games (seven starts), Culberson was hitting .259 (7-for-27) with two doubles, four RBI and three runs scored.
