Dodgers reinstate Yu Darvish

The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated right-handed pitcher Yu Darvish from the 10-day disabled list and placed right-handed pitcher Josh Fields on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to Aug. 25) with a lower back strain.

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated right-handed pitcher Yu Darvish from the 10-day disabled list and placed right-handed pitcher Josh Fields on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to Aug. 25) with a lower back strain.
Darvish, who missed eight games due to lower back tightness, will make his 26th start of the season this afternoon and fourth as a Dodger. He last pitched on Aug. 16 against the White Sox, allowing three runs on eight hits in 6.0 innings with two strikeouts and did not factor in the decision in the Dodgers' 5-4 victory. Since being acquired on July 31 from the Rangers, Darvish has gone 2-0 with a 2.50 ERA (5 ER/18.0 IP) and has struck out 22 batters against just four walks in three starts. On the season, he is 8-9 with a 3.83 ERA (66 ER/155.0 IP) and has held hitters to a .227 average while striking out 170 against 49 walks in 26 combined starts with the Rangers and the Dodgers.
Fields is 5-1 with one save and has posted a 2.68 ERA (14 ER/47.0 IP) in 47 games this season. He last pitched on Aug. 24, going 0.1 innings at Pittsburgh.
