"I think certain people have tried to minimize what we've accomplished during the regular season," manager Dave Roberts said after Saturday night's 5-3 win over the Rockies. "As a group, it takes a lot to win 103 baseball games. To have home-field advantage throughout the postseason says a lot about the guys in the clubhouse. Now we've got to take advantage of the home-field advantage. We've done everything we can do to this point and all we can do is execute."
The Dodgers ran away with the National League West title, extending their lead to 21 games at 91-36 as recently as Aug. 25. Since then, they are 12-22, their lead sliced to 11 games.
At 103-59, even a loss Sunday would leave the Cleveland Indians a game behind the Dodgers for the best record in baseball.
The 103 wins are the most for the Dodgers since Brooklyn won 105 games in 1953. If the Dodgers reach the World Series, it would open at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
"You don't want to look too far ahead, but it will be nice if we get to that point," said . "It's been a great regular season, it really has, best I've ever been part of. Just feels like you're going to win every time you're on the field."
