The Los Angeles Dodgers today selected the contract of right-hander José De León (#87) from Triple-A Oklahoma City, giving the club 31 players on its active roster.

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today selected the contract of right-hander José De León (#87) from Triple-A Oklahoma City, giving the club 31 players on its active roster.
De León, 24, will make his Major League debut this afternoon as the Dodgers' starting pitcher vs. San Diego after posting a 7-1 record with a 2.61 ERA in 16 starts at Triple-A this season. With OKC, De León limited opponents to a .194 batting average with a 0.94 WHIP, while striking out 111 against only 20 walks in 86.1 innings. In his last six starts at Triple-A, De León went 4-0 with a 1.30 ERA (6 ER/41.2 IP), and enters today's start with a 17.2-inning scoreless streak and having struck out 40 batters since his last walk on Aug. 12. The native of Puerto Rico has a 23-13 record with a 3.35 ERA in 67 games (64 starts) in four minor league seasons after being selected by the Dodgers in the 24th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Southern University.
