LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Rob Segedin (#25) from Triple-A Oklahoma City and optioned infielder Chris Taylor to Triple-A.
Segedin, who is making his first-career appearance on a big-league roster, batted .319 with a .392 on-base percentage, 23 doubles, nine triples, 21 homers and 69 RBI in 103 games with OKC, leading the Pacific Coast League with a .598 slugging percentage and ranking among the league leaders in hits (119, 6^th), triples (2^nd), home runs (T-4^th), RBI (9^th), batting average (9^th) and on-base percentage (T-6^th). Defensively, Segedin appeared at first base (36 games), second base (one game), third base (58 games), shortstop (one game) and left field (five games) with Oklahoma City. The 27-year-old was acquired by the Dodgers in a trade with the Yankees on Jan. 12, 2016 and was originally selected by New York in the third round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft out of Tulane University.
Taylor batted .229 with a homer and seven RBI in 24 games with the Dodgers.
To create room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred outfielder Trayce Thompson to the 60-day disabled list (original DL retroactive to July 10).
