LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers traded infielder Micah Johnson to the Braves on Friday for a player to be named or cash considerations, the club announced.
Johnson was designated for assignment on Wednesday to make room on the 40-man roster for the signing of free-agent closer Kenley Jansen.

Johnson, 26, was acquired by the Dodgers from the White Sox last winter with Trayce Thompson and Frankie Montas for Jose Peraza, Brandon Dixon and Scott Schebler. The latter three players went to Cincinnati, which sent Todd Frazier to the White Sox.
Johnson, who was the Dodgers' No. 21 prospect, played most of the 2016 season at Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he hit .261 with a .677 OPS. He played seven games with the Dodgers in a September callup.
