LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers outfielder is holding a fundraising poker tournament later this month for his Wild Horse Foundation, and in his Mother's Day message below, we learn where he got the motivation to give back to the community:
Dear Mom, I would like to thank you on this beautiful day, Mother's Day, and I would like to thank you for everything you have done for me. For inspiring me to do all the great things, on the field and off the field, with the children.

That is why I was inspired to start this poker tournament on May 22 here at Dodger Stadium for the Wild Horse Foundation. To help children in school with their supplies, and outside of school with their sports supplies, so they can have the same opportunity that I had in life thanks to you, who made me the person I am today. That is what I want to give the children, that opportunity to keep helping their mothers, their families, so they can succeed. Because I know these children have the talent, but they don't have the things that my foundation will try to supply them.
Thank you so much, I love you and I wish the best to all the mothers in the world.
A big kiss from Yasiel Puig and all of his teammates on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
