DraftKings picks: Rays' bats size up Camden Yards

April 8th, 2016

Welcome to DraftKings fantasy baseball, the Official Daily Fantasy Game of Major League Baseball.
The players listed below could provide difference-making stats for DraftKings participants on Friday.
Corey Dickerson: The outfielder has produced pronounced career splits, with a .934 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .669 mark vs. lefties. Dickerson could hit a homer or drive in multiple runs when he travels to hitter-friendly Camden Yards to tangle with righty Chris Tillman (career 4.19 ERA, 1.31 WHIP).
Brad Miller: The shortstop could provide production at a premium position when he faces Tillman (4.99 ERA, 1.39 WHIP in 2015) at an offense-inducing road venue. In his career, Miller has produced a .748 OPS against right-handers in comparison to a .574 mark vs. lefties.
Kevin Kiermaier: As a big leaguer, Kiermaier has registered a .792 OPS against right-handers that notably exceeds his .581 mark vs. lefties. The outfielder could be part of a Rays stack -- including Dickerson, Miller and first baseman Logan Morrison -- against Tillman (career 4.50 FIP).
John Jaso: From an expected perch atop the lineup, Jaso could maximize his opportunities to reach base and score runs when he faces Reds right-hander Alfredo Simon (career 4.17 ERA, 1.34 WHIP) at offense-inducing Great American Ball Park. Jaso owns a lifetime .796 OPS against right-handers that dwarfs his .542 mark vs. lefties.

Gregory Polanco: The speedy outfielder could contribute in multiple ways when he brings his lifetime .272/.344/.407 slash line against right-handers into a matchup with Simon (5.05 ERA, 1.44 WHIP in 2015). Polanco could also excel late in the game against a Reds relief corps that lacks reliable options.
Shin-Soo Choo: Choo got his career back on track when he posted an impressive .343/.455/.560 slash line in the second half of 2015. The outfielder will be poised to display his power when he brings his lifetime .300/.403/.504 slash line against right-handers into a matchup with Angels fly-ball-prone righty Matt Shoemaker (4.46 ERA, 1.6 HR/9 rate in 2015).
Prince Fielder: The slugger could put a ball into the outfield seats when he faces Shoemaker, who owns a lifetime 1.2 HR/9 rate. In his career, Fielder has logged a .959 OPS against right-handers in comparison to a .790 mark vs. lefties.

Daniel Nava: Nava will be set to thrive when he brings his lifetime .281/.377/.409 slash line against right-handers into a matchup with Rangers righty A.J. Griffin (career 4.34 FIP). Griffin will be making his first start since the 2013 season, after recovering from multiple arm injuries.
Denard Span: From his perch atop the lineup, the outfielder will maximize his chances to succeed when he brings his lifetime .761 OPS against right-handers (.715 vs. lefties) into a matchup with Dodgers right-hander Ross Stripling. The 26-year-old will be making his first big league start, and he has yet to pitch at the Triple-A level.
Matt Duffy: Since the outset of his stellar 2015 rookie season, Duffy has posted a .308/.345/.462 slash line against right-handers. The third baseman could be part of a high-scoring lineup when the Giants meet up with the inexperienced Stripling.

Adrian Gonzalez: Gonzalez could drive in multiple runs from the heart of the lineup when he brings his lifetime .298/.375/.527 slash line against right-handers into a matchup with the Giants' Matt Cain, who logged a 5.79 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP in an injury-affected 2015 campaign.
Justin Turner: Since joining the Dodgers at the outset of the 2014 season, Turner has hit .313 with a .382 on-base percentage. The third baseman could use his plate skills to reach base often or score multiple runs when he puts his lifetime .799 OPS against right-handers (.713 vs. lefties) on the line against Cain (5.54 FIP in 2015).
Cory Spangenberg: Now with a full-time gig at second base, Spangenberg will be in position to excel when he brings his career .733 OPS against right-handers (.679 vs. lefties) to hitter-friendly Coors Field. Spangenberg will take on righty Jordan Lyles, who owns a lifetime 5.10 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP.
Yordano Ventura: Among the hardest-throwing starters in baseball, Ventura took a step forward when he posted a 2.38 ERA across his final 11 regular-season starts in 2015. The right-hander could pitch a gem when he works in front of an elite defensive unit at his pitcher-friendly home park against the Twins.
Jaime Garcia: Garcia -- who posted a 2.43 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP in 2015 -- will be in prime position to silence the opposition when he faces the Braves at offense-suppressing Turner Field. Atlanta's lineup does not feature a single player who hit 20 homers last season.
Francisco Liriano: One of the most dominant southpaws in the Senior Circuit, Liriano has logged a 3.23 ERA and a 9.7 K/9 rate since joining the Pirates at the outset of the 2013 season. Backed by a Pittsburgh club that won 98 games last season, he has the skills to thrive at Great American Ball Park in a seemingly advantageous matchup with Simon.

Jacob deGrom: With a lifetime 2.61 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP, deGrom has needed just two seasons to establish himself as a fantasy ace. The right-hander could post a game-changing total in DraftKings contests when he works at home against a Phillies lineup that includes just one player (Ryan Howard) who reached 15 homers last season.
All statistics are accurate through the completion of Wednesday's games.
