The Red Sox and left-handed pitcher Drew Pomeranz avoided arbitration Wednesday and settled on a one-year, $4.45 million contract.
Pomeranz went 11-12 with a 3.32 ERA split between the Padres and Red Sox in 2016. The 28-year-old was acquired by Boston on July 14 in exchange for Minor League right-hander Anderson Espinoza.
