Veteran reliever Storen joins KC on Minors deal

February 15th, 2019

Veteran reliever has agreed to a Minor League deal with the Royals, pending a physical, according to a report Friday from MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal.
MLB Network insider Jon Heyman also reported that the deal will be for more than $1 million. Per Rosenthal, it will be "incentive-laden." The Royals have not confirmed the deal.
The right-hander is attempting to come back from Tommy John surgery after missing all of last season recovering from the December 2017 procedure.
Storen last pitched for the Reds, making 58 appearances in '17 with a 4.45 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 54 2/3 innings. The 31-year-old has also pitched for the Nationals, Blue Jays and Mariners over eight big league seasons.
