Stubbs begins rehab assignment on Friday

CINCINNATI -- Reds center fielder Drew Stubbs, out since June 5 due to a strained left oblique, was slated to begin a rehab assignment Friday with Class A Dayton.

Stubbs, who took batting practice on Wednesday with the Reds without issue, was expected to spend three games with Dayton and could be activated on Monday.

"A lot of it depends on how he feels. Hopefully there are no setbacks," Reds manager Dusty Baker said.
