PHILADELPHIA -- When Nationals manager Dusty Baker handed the ball to his bullpen in the seventh inning of their Friday afternoon win over the Phillies, it came with a 7-1 lead and two runners on base.
By game's end, the Nationals squeaked out a 7-6 victory over their division rivals, the bullpen surrendering four runs and allowing both of its inherited runners to score.
Although Washington has a handful of serviceable options in the bullpen, Baker hasn't yet determined the best way to employ them.
"We're just kind of still in the process of figuring out where to slot guys in that part of the game," Baker said. "That would've been heartbreaking and devastating had we lost that game, but we won it."
Sammy Solis entered in the seventh and allowed an RBI double to Freddy Galvis and a homer three pitches later to Aaron Altherr.

"I left a couple pitches over the plate, that's all it is," an unworried Solis said after the game.
After blowing a save in the series finale Thursday against the Marlins, closer Blake Trienen allowed two runs of his own in the ninth before recording the final out in the one-run game. He's pitched in all four games this year.
Not even a week into the season, Baker isn't phased by his bullpen situation.
"How are you going to toss a red flag when you've played [four] games?" Baker said.
