Rosario rising, but Twins need ballot boost

CHICAGO -- Twins left fielder continues to move up among American League outfielders in the latest 2018 Camping World MLB All-Star Ballot update released Tuesday, but he remains the only Twins player among the leading vote-getters.

Rosario, who is hitting .320/.357/.581 with 17 homers, 21 doubles and 50 RBIs in 73 games, has received 434,242 votes, which ranks 11th among AL outfielders. The Red Sox's (2,338,514 votes), the Angels' (1,989,649) and the Yankees' (1,557,109) lead the balloting for AL outfielders.
Rosario ranks tied for eighth in the Majors with 3.3 Wins Above Replacement, according to Fangraphs.com. He also ranks fourth among AL outfielders, trailing Trout (6.1 WAR), Betts (4.4) and Judge (3.8).
Shortstop is also an All-Star candidate, but he is not among the top five vote-getters at his position. Escobar is hitting .293/.346/.563 with 12 homers, a Major League-leading 33 doubles and 48 RBIs in 71 games while seeing time at both shortstop and third base.
Fans may cast votes for starters at MLB.com and all 30 club sites -- on computers, tablets and smartphones -- exclusively online using the 2018 Camping World MLB All-Star Ballot until Thursday, July 5, at 10:59 p.m. CT. On smartphones and tablets, fans can also access the ballot via the MLB At Bat and MLB Ballpark mobile apps. Each fan can vote up to five times in any 24-hour period, for a maximum of 35 ballots cast.
Following the announcement of this year's All-Star starters, reserves and pitchers, fans should return to MLB.com and cast their 2018 Camping World MLB All-Star Final Vote for the final player on each league's roster. Then on Tuesday, July 17, while watching the 2018 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard live on FOX, fans may visit MLB.com to submit their choices for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet with the 2018 MLB All-Star Game MVP Vote.
The 89th Midsummer Classic, at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., will be televised nationally by FOX Sports; in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS; and worldwide by partners in more than 180 countries.
