Brandy Volquez, younger brother of former Royals pitcher , was stabbed to death at a barbershop in Santo Domingo, according to multiple news reports out of the Dominican Republic.
Volquez, 25, was reportedly involved in a fight with two men early Monday morning. There is one person in police custody, but according to USA Today, the police have yet to reveal any further details.
It's another tragic loss for the Marlins right-hander, whose father passed away hours before he started Game 1 of the 2015 World Series, when he was pitching for the Royals.
The elder Volquez posted a photo on his Instagram account of his late brother with a caption that read: "I will always remember you my brother. May God have you in his kingdom. RIP one love."

The 33-year-old Volquez, who has a home in South Florida, signed a two-year, $22 million contract with the Marlins on Dec. 1.
