Encarnacion undergoes successful surgery

Slugger should be ready to go for Spring Training

Edwin Encarnacion underwent successful surgery to repair a sports hernia on Tuesday and is expected to fully participate in Spring Training.

Encarnacion, 32, hit .277/.373/.557 with 39 home runs and 111 RBIs in 146 games for the Blue Jays this season, and he batted .275 in 11 postseason games.
