Dodgers, Herrera reportedly agree to Minors deal

The Dodgers and utility player Elian Herrera have agreed to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training camp, according to reports.

The 30-year-old began his career with the Dodgers, originally signing with the club in 2003 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic.

Making his debut with Los Angeles in 2012, Herrera played in a total of 71 games for the Dodgers over two seasons.

Since being claimed off waivers by the Brewers following the 2013 season, Herrera has seen much more playing time. In 2015, he played in 83 games, hitting .242 with seven home runs and 33 RBIs.
