ST. LOUIS -- Move over, "Roll Out the Barrel," there's a new singalong song coming to Miller Park.
The Brewers have received the green light from Thames' Korean team to begin using the slugger's personal fight song in Milwaukee. Unlike his three years in the Korea Baseball Organization, when the NC Dinos played the catchy tune not only as Thames stepped to the plate, but in the middle of his at-bats, the Brewers plan to save it for when Thames circles the bases on home runs.
"It's for the fans, so it's all good," Thames said. "But for me, I heard that for three years, every at-bat. If the fans are into it, I'm happy."
Every player has a personal cheer song in Korea, Thames said, complete with lyrics and chants and a routine performed by cheerleaders on the dugout.

Thames' was catchy. It's set to the tune of the "Colonel Bogey March," composed by British Lieutenant F. J. Ricketts in 1914 and used extensively on stage and screen over the years. Fans of "The Simpsons" will recognize it from Bart's birthday song for sister Lisa: "Lisa, her teeth are big and green ..."
For Thames, the lyrics go like this:
Eric Thames! Crush that ball!
Eric Thames! Crush that ball!
Eric Thames! Home run!
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
And repeat.
The song will be queued up for the Brewers' return to Miller Park on May 9 against the Red Sox.
Braun making progress
Ryan Braun said he was "headed in the right direction" Tuesday, even as he missed a second straight start with an injury to his throwing arm. He said from the start, after exiting Sunday's game against the Braves, that he expected his absence to span more than one day.
"He was going to do a bit more today," manager Craig Counsell said. "He was going to take some swings today inside. So we're making progress."
Brewers officials have not discussed a stint on the 10-day disabled list for Braun, according to Counsell.
