MILWAUKEE -- Just as Eric Thames is heating up at the plate, he cooled in the latest National League All-Star balloting results.
Thames, who ranked fifth among NL first basemen in the first round of vote tallies last week, had fallen out of the top five when Major League Baseball on Monday released the update.
Six-time All-Star Ryan Braun was the only Brewers player on the leaderboards, ranked 15th among NL outfielders, with 188,192 votes. The top three vote-getters will form the NL's starting outfield; as of Monday the leaders were Bryce Harper (1,459,235 votes), Charlie Blackmon (979,961) and Jason Heyward (498,079).

Fans may cast votes for starters at MLB.com and all 30 club sites -- on computers, tablets and smartphones -- exclusively online using the 2017 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, June 29, at 10:59 p.m. CT. On smartphones and tablets, fans can also access the ballot via the MLB.com At Bat and MLB.com Ballpark mobile apps. Vote up to five times in any 24-hour period for a maximum of 35 ballots cast.
Following the announcement of the 2017 All-Star starters, reserves and pitchers, fans should return to MLB.com and cast their 2017 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote for the final player on each league's All-Star roster. Then on Tuesday, July 11, while watching the 2017 All-Star Game presented by MasterCard live on FOX, fans may visit MLB.com to submit their choices for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet with the 2017 MLB All-Star Game MVP Vote.
The 88th Midsummer Classic, at Marlins Park in Miami, will be televised nationally by FOX Sports; in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS; and worldwide by partners in more than 160 countries. Thames' competition at first base is led by the Nationals' Ryan Zimmerman, who has 670,671 votes. Antony Rizzo, Freddie Freemann, Paul Goldschmidt and Matt Carpenter fill out the top five. Thames, who homered Sunday against the Dodgers to give him 15 this season, is tied for third among NL first basemen. Thames' 1.018 OPS entering play Monday was second among NL first basemen to Zimmerman's 1.133.
The top vote-getter at catcher and each infield position and the top three in outfield voting will start for the NL.
