Suarez provides much-needed boost with 5 RBIs

PITTSBURGH -- The Reds came into Saturday with one win and in desperate need of an offensive boost. took care of that in his final two at-bats against the Pirates.
During his 3-for-4 night with a walk, Suarez matched a career high with a five-RBI game. His bases-loaded single in the sixth against reliever scored two runs and made it a 4-4 game. In the eighth inning against , Suarez hit an 0-1 pitch for a three-run home run to left field and the lead.
The Reds were trailing by a 4-0 score through two innings before slowly chipping away. Suarez was involved in the early rally as he slugged a double in the third inning to set up Joey Votto's sacrifice fly that scored . In the fifth, after the Reds scored another run, Suarez drew a walk. Cincinnati had the bases loaded with one out in the fifth after scoring a run but came up empty.
Suarez's five RBIs equaled his output vs. the Cubs on Aug. 22, 2017. Cincinnati signed the 26-year-old to a seven-year, $66 million contract during Spring Training last month.
