LAS VEGAS -- D-backs pitchers Andrew Chafin and Zack Godley are more than just teammates. They are best friends, and they enjoy nothing more than spending time outdoors.
One fan and a friend will have the opportunity to accompany Chafin and Godley on either a fishing or horseback riding adventure this year as part of the annual charity auction put together by all 30 Major League teams.
This year's auction will support the Jackie Robinson Foundation and the Negro Leagues Museum, two important institutions that educate future generations of young people through honoring significant moments and individuals of baseball's past.
The auction is live on MLB.com/wintermeetingsauction from now through Thursday, when it will conclude at 8 p.m. MST. Items include special baseball experiences, including meetings with some of the game's biggest stars, along with unique items donated by MLB and the 30 clubs.
In addition to getting to choose whether to fish or horseback ride with the two pitchers, the winning bidder will receive four infield box seat tickets to a game as well as pregame passes to watch batting practice from the field.
That's just one of the three one-of-a-kind experiences being offered by the D-backs.
There is also "The Ultimate D-backs VIP Experience" which will result in an unforgettable day at Chase Field for the winning bidder and three guests.
The package includes four seats within the first 10 rows of the field, passes to watch batting practice from the field and a private tour of the ballpark.
Part of the tour will include a photo with Luis Gonzalez with both his retired number and that of Jackie Robinson in the background. The winner will also have a photo taken inside the famous OnTrac Bullpen Cart, visit the press box to meet the members of the D-backs' broadcast team, sit in on manager Torey Lovullo's pregame media session and enjoy a world-famous Churro Dog.
Speaking of food, the final D-backs package is "Fogo Power with Eduardo Escobar."
Escobar is known for eating at Fogo de Chao as often as possible, and the winning bidder along with three guests will join him for lunch there. They will then head to the ballpark where the package also includes four incredible seats to the game and the opportunity to watch batting practice from the field.
