• Double-A Tennessee is headed to the playoffs for the fourth time in the last five years after winning the Southern League North Division second half with a victory Monday against Mobile. Matt Loosen threw seven shutout innings and Javier Baez hit his 18th home run to help Tennessee beat Mobile, 6-0, and clinch the title.

The Smokies will start the best-of-five North Division Championship Series on Sept. 5 against Birmingham, a White Sox affiliate. The first two games will be held in Regions Field in Birmingham, Ala., with the final three being held at Smokies Park.

Baez, ranked No. 1 among Cubs prospects on MLB.com's top 20 list, homered for the fourth time in his last six games Monday and finished with four RBIs. He entered Tuesday batting .390 this month.

Both Baez and Loosen are among the Cubs contingent headed to the Arizona Fall League.
