Fantasy411: Zinkie answers Week 4 questions
MLB.com fantasy expert Fred Zinkie fielded questions from fans during a live Twitter chat (at @fantasy411) on Monday. Read through the best of the Q&A below. Questions and answers have been edited for clarity.
@theman0624: Are Jose Bautista and Jose Abreu droppable or still too early?
Fred Zinkie: Still too early for both. But they should be benched in mixed leagues.
@ken_rush12: Should I pick up Michael Wacha or Luis Severino?
Zinkie: Pick up Wacha. They are both great options, but Wacha is likely safer.
@jM_lR: Should I pick up Max Kepler, Hunter Renfroe or Kevin Kiermaier?
Zinkie: Kiermaier is my choice. He should provide 25 steals and score plenty of runs.
@mrike718: Who is next in line for the Angels' closer's role?
Zinkie: Hard to predict. My guess is a committee, led by Richard Parker.
@kfabes_8: Should I buy low on Jose Bautista?
Zinkie: It depends how low you can go. But overall, I like the idea. He will likely come around to some degree.
@PatriceMarechal: Would you prefer to stash Brent Honeywell or Jose De Leon?
Zinkie: De Leon is my choice, but I know some others prefer Honeywell.
@tahamufti1: Should I drop Jharel Cotton for one of Julio Urias or Luis Severino?
Zinkie: Yes, you need to get Urias.
@mmledz: Please share your thoughts on Daniel Vogelbach getting recalled by Seattle.
Zinkie: I'm interested. I would add him in 15-team leagues. Monitor in 12-team formats.
@nmach10: Should I drop Matt Moore for any of Ivan Nova, Adam Wainwright, Tyler Skaggs, Brandon McCarthy or Mike Foltynewicz?
Zinkie: Yes, grab Nova. He should be owned in all leagues.
@NSerisky: Which two players are most likely to continue to produce out of Jake Lamb, Miguel Sano, Mitch Moreland or Ryan Zimmerman?
Zinkie: Sano, Lamb. Zimmerman is an injury risk and Moreland tends to go hot and cold each season.
@yukunakayama: Nate Jones entered in the seventh inning yesterday, with Tommy Kahnle in the eighth inning. Is Jones no longer the most likely closer option if Player Page for David Robertson is traded?
Zinkie: Great question. I still lean to Jones. But it's closer now. I wouldn't work too hard to stash Jones in a mixed league.
@Kogaryu66: When do you expect Yoan Moncada and Cody Bellinger to reach the Majors this season?
Zinkie: My guess on Moncada is late May or early June. I'm not as firm on Bellinger. He might need certain players to go on the diabled list.
@rutpharmknights: Please rank, according to saves for the rest of the season: Shawn Kelley, Matt Bush, Santiago Casilla and Joaquin Benoit.
Zinkie: Bush, Kelley, Benoit, Casilla.
@stanhammer1978: Should I drop Carlos Martinez or Rick Porcello for Lance Lynn?
Zinkie: You should stick with Martinez and Porcello.
@j_mendwin: Do you expect Trey Mancini or Joey Gallo to have more rest-of-season value?
Zinkie: Gallo. He has more power potential.
@jjthorn17: Is Mitch Haniger legit? I am thinking he is a definite sell-high candidate.
Zinkie: Yes, he is legit. And yes, he is a sell-high candidate! Float his name on the trade market and see what happens.
@icatchfrisbees: Please share your current thoughts on Trea Turner.
Zinkie: I still view him as a top-15 player.
@stepsinpairs: Should I drop Steve Pearce for one of Robbie Grossman, Aaron Hicks, Travis Shaw or David Freese?
Zinkie: Pick up Shaw. He could hit 25 homers this year.
@theycallmevb: Do you prefer Jett Bandy or Austin Hedges?
Zinkie: Hedges for sure. His batting average should rise.
@RealBH44: Should I pick up Kevin Pillar or Aaron Altherr?
Zinkie: Pick up Pillar. He has been hitting out of the leadoff spot.
@timster2340: Todd Frazier was dropped in my league. Should I drop Avisail Garcia or Mitch Haniger for him?
Zinkie: I would drop Garcia for him.
