Fantasy411 chat: When will Acuna arrive?

February 19th, 2018

MLB.com fantasy expert Fred Zinkie fielded questions from fans during a live Twitter chat (@fantasy411) on Monday. Read through the best of the Q&A below. Questions and answers have been edited for clarity.
Question: @tatadwar When is going to be in the big leagues?
Fred Zinkie: Late April is a solid projection, as long as the Braves don't add a quality left fielder during Spring Training.
Question: @ddsnyderr Should be a first-round pick in 2018?
Zinkie: Harper should be picked late in Rd. 1 or early in Rd. 2. Ideally, he will be paired with an ace starter.
Question: @sambeall Would you rather have Chris Sale for $35 or two solid starters such as Chris Archer and for the same total amount?
Zinkie: Take the two starters. But Sale would be the choice if the starters fell below the rank of Archer.
Question: @Stevebrittain5 Do you think will be the No. 1 catcher for the Indians within the next two years?
Zinkie: Yes, there seems to be a good chance. He could be their top catcher by the end of this season.
Question: @ctefantasy In a roto league that uses on-base percentage instead of batting average, would you rather draft or Charlie Blackmon?
Zinkie: It is very close, but Betts is the choice here. Mostly due to age.
Question: @Fjaaaa With C.J. Cron now on the Rays, will Shohei Ohtani get more playing time at DH for the Angels?
Zinkie: The plan likely stays mostly the same for Ohtani. However, should get more playing time at first base.
Question: @ChuckTownBaker Is it better to draft two premium relievers or punt saves in head-to-head categories?
Zinkie: Draft one premium reliever and go cheap with your other relievers.
Question: @scouttankel How much does improve with the acquisition? And could now join the Rays' rotation earlier?
Zinkie: Myers gets a small bump. No change on Honeywell, as the Rays are opening the season with a four-man rotation.
Question: @jfiresports What do you think of this year? Is this going to be the year he breaks out?
Zinkie: Yes, but he is going really early in drafts. By drafting him in the top 50, you're paying for the projected breakout.
Question: @CalebHundley3 Do you prefer or Ronald Acuna for 2018 only?
Zinkie: Devers is my pick, simply due to the certainty of his role.
Question: @DukeDiligence Do you prefer or in a dynasty league?
Zinkie: Moncada. He has so much long-term potential.
Question: @shumanator_ Which position has the least depth this year, and what round are you looking to add that position?
Zinkie: Catcher has the least depth. I would like to get in Rd. 2-3. If not, then or in Rd. 5-6.
Question: @CBM69823707 How much of a bump does Robbie Ray get in the rankings because of the humidor?
Zinkie: He moves up a couple spots. Ray is now a borderline ace. A few more innings would help, though.
Question: @Mark15_11 I have the first pick in my draft tomorrow. Should I take or ?
Zinkie: You have to take Trout No. 1 overall. Don't think twice about it.
Question: @jacksonmcanally How do you have the Big 4 starters ranked?
Zinkie: Kershaw, , Sale, Max Scherzer.
Question: @davidcmckay Do you prefer Manny Machado or ?
Zinkie: Correa for 2018 and beyond.
Question: @JesseBurrill17 Please name a late-round catcher that you think could end up being top 5 at the position this year?
Zinkie: If he gets enough playing time, .
Question: @tommyhodges_ How high will Rhys Hoskins finish this year?
Zinkie: He has the potential to be a top 20 hitter. More realistically, top 35.
Question: @OkOkBluejays Is still the No. 1 first baseman, even with the humidor?
Zinkie: Yes, but the gap between him and the second tier is now narrow.
