Fisher, Tucker, Alvarez to play in Futures Game

HOUSTON -- For the second time in Astros history, three players from the club were selected to the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Thursday.

Outfielders Derek Fisher and Kyle Tucker have been named to the U.S. Team roster, and infielder Yordan Alvarez was named to the World Team on Thursday, marking the first time three players from the Astros' organization were selected for the game since Carlos Correa, George Springer and Delino DeShields (now with the Rangers) were chosen in 2013.

The 2017 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game takes place on Sunday, July 9, at 3 p.m. CT at Marlins Park in Miami and can be viewed live on MLB Network and MLB.com.

In 67 games with Triple-A Fresno, Fisher, 23, has hit .313 with 20 doubles, one triple, 17 homers, 50 RBIs, 13 stolen bases and a .957 OPS. The left-handed-hitting Fisher, Houston's No. 4 prospect according to MLBPipeline.com, hit .278 with two home runs and three RBIs during a five-game stint with the Astros in mid-June.

Tucker, 20, is the Astros' second-ranked prospect. Tucker is the second-youngest player in the Double-A Texas League, where he has mashed seven doubles and six home runs -- along with an .821 OPS -- in his first 25 games for Corpus Christi.

No. 14 prospect Alvarez, a 20-year old who was promoted to Class A Advanced Buies Creek, homered in his first game at that level.

Last year, Astros third baseman Alex Bregman went 3-for-5 and was a home run shy of the cycle in the Futures Game. Other current Astros to participate in the Futures Game include Jose Altuve in 2011 and Michael Feliz in '14.
